- Happy Thanksgiving! Hopefully all families are able to gather for the Thanksgiving weekend and can find the perfect opportunity to snap a family picture for our Avonlea School Family wall (not-so-subtle hint)
Thursday, October 15
- To celebrate World Students Day, our staff will be treating all students to a Pancake Breakfast! Pancakes and juice boxes will be delivered to classrooms beginning at 8:50.
- It is also Global Handwashing Day. We have certainly become proficient at handwashing over the last few months!
Friday, October 16
- To celebrate World Food Day, our SLC will be providing snacks for all students.

- We are very sad to have to say farewell to Ms. Kristin Weiterman, Jarred and Lilly as they move to a new city, new school, and new job. They will all be missed very much.
- Welcome to Mrs. Kimberly Dorval who will join our Avonlea School team after the Thanksgiving weekend.
- All school-aged girls are invited to attend International Day of the Girl 2020 in Moose Jaw this coming Saturday. Click here for more details.
- Canadian Red Cross is offering VIRTUAL training for the Red Cross Babysitting Course. The course is completed over ZOOM with sessions scheduled October 9th to coincide with no school that day. The course is meant for youth 11 years and older. The required materials for the course and completion Certificate will be delivered to your home. Cost for the course is $40.

- The Regina Public Library is presenting Empowering Parents, Engaging Learners: Creating Collaborative Learning Environments with Debbie Pushor. This Zoom webinar is intended to support and empower parents with school-age children on Wednesday, October 14 from 7:00-8:00 pm. Avonlea School Community Council News
Our School Community Council Annual General Meeting and elections took place on September 29. We are very happy to welcome Amanda Gonzales and Deanne Klippenstine to the team. Welcome as well to Kennedy MacNeil who has joined as a Secondary Student Representative. Thank you for volunteering for the Council, ladies – we are looking forward to working with you.
Reminder: our SCC’s Second Annual Gopher Hole Blitz is happening today beginning at 4:30. Bring your shovel and join them for a school ground fix up! |
