- It’s Picture Retake day! We will also be scheduling all students who were not able to make it to our original picture day as well as Grade 12 Cap & Gown pictures.
Tuesday, October 29
- Our Grade 3-6 students will be Discovery Days Farm Presentation.
- Deadline to order soup for Thursday’s Soup Day. This week’s option is Beef Stew with a bun for $3. Meals must be pre-ordered, but prepayment is not required. See the attached poster for further details.
Wednesday, October 30
- Our SLC members have been busy planning some great Fear Factor activities to help us celebrate Halloween.
Thursday, October 31
- It’s Soup Day for anyone who remembered to pre-order! Remember, no Grilled Cheese will be served this day.
Sports News:
- Good luck to our Bantam Volleyball teams who are in playoffs this weekend.
- Keep up to date with all upcoming sports dates using our Sports Calendar.
Other Items of Interest:
- Reminder: There will be Driver Education class in Rouleau tomorrow, October 25, from 8:30 – 2:30.
- Reminder: SLC Activity Fees are due by the end of October. If you have not already done so, please have $25.00 per student sent to the office at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions or if you need to make other payment arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact us.
- We would like to remind parents of our elementary children to please ensure they are dressed appropriately for the weather. We have had a few very cool days already and our elementary kids are outside for over an hour a day.
- School Clothing order forms have been sent home. Just a reminder that sizers will be available during our Fall Fair or every day after school. Clothing orders can also be submitted online using your School Cash account. The deadline to order is November 4.
- A group of students have started a Social Media Club to share events happening in our school and the extra-curricular events from a student’s perspective. Check them out on Instagram: avonlea.eagles or on Facebook: Avonlea Eagles

- Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our first Fall Fair, and to all of the students who entered their crafts, baking and artwork. Congratulations to all of our winners! Special thanks to our organizers – Mrs. Stuble, Mrs. Dombowsky and Mrs. Crompton – for the many hours they put in to make this event happen, and to our SCC members who helped by sponsoring, organizing and serving supper to everyone.
