Well the first week is (almost) in the books! We are extremely proud of our students and the way they handled the new procedures. Everyone is settling in and the school year is off to a great start.
Thank you again to our parents for supporting and helping to prepare the kids for their return. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Items of interest:
- Our SLC is busy planning Spirit Activities for the week of September 21 – 24. Plans are in the preliminary stages, but please watch for details coming out as soon as they are finalized.
- The Avonlea School Community Council (SCC) is looking to add at least two members to their Council. If you would be interested in joining the team, or would like more information, please contact Mrs. Krawetz at krawetz.candice@prairiesouth.ca or (306)868-2000.
Reminders:
- Parents, please do not use our bus lanes clear when dropping off / picking up students. This includes the curb directly adjacent to the bus lane as well.
- Also, please remember that students are not to be dropped off before 8:30. Outside supervision starts at that time, and it is necessary to ensure students remain in their designated areas.
- If you have not done so already, please have your completed Student Information Verification forms returned to the school by tomorrow, September 11.
- Thank you to all of the families who have sent in their wonderful family photos. If you have not yet sent yours in, we would appreciate receiving them as soon as possible so we can start working on our Avonlea School Families wall display.
- Don’t forget that tomorrow is School Colours Day! Remember to wear your red, white & black. We will be celebrating being back together as a school family with an afternoon treat courtesy of our wonderful SLC.
