Love in Every Home
Our community is one that is continuously growing and changing. This December the School Community Council from Caronport Elementary will be gathering Christmas bundles that will be randomly dispersed amongst the community from items that are brought in specifically for “Love In Every Home”. Love in Every Home gives the opportunity for our community to bless one another. Through these bundles we hope that people will receive the message that our community cares about their neighbors and are willing to go that little bit extra to show them.
How “Love In Every Home” Will Work
We invite any community members who would like to contribute any amount of new items that may be a blessing to another home. The students on the arranged day in December will compile these bundles as part of their belonging goals in the school.
Just a couple of days before Christmas will be our delivery day. A team of volunteers will pick up all of our prepared bundles and deliver them to both the addresses we have collected and to random homes amongst our community.
There are many different roles you can be a part of. It can be the small gift you donate combined with many other small gifts that make a huge difference in someone’s life. Another gift could be with the time you give to compile our home bundles. Maybe you are available with a vehicle or just to come along the day we do deliveries.
Where do I bring my items?
You can either bring your items to the fall dinner on November 15, 2019 or contact loveineveryhome@gmail.com to drop your items off.
What kind of items can I give?
This is just an ideas list. Be creative; it just cannot be an overly large item and it needs to be something that will not leak or be easily broken. (We are not accepting food items unless it is a gift item like a recipe in a jar sort of gift.)
We will be giving all brand-new items. It’s anything that could be a blessing to anyone. Blanket, kitchen items, toys for assorted ages ( please email loveineveryhome@gmail.com for a detailed list of kids ages that we are compiling bundles for), small bowl set, pack of four mugs, dish cloth w/ dishtowel, hand towels with face clothes, nice encouraging decorative item, toiletries: toothbrushes, toothpaste, soaps, stretchy winter gloves, $5-$10 Tim Horton gift cards, $10 Dollarama gift cards, boxes of chocolates, Christmas items… If you want to make a financial contribution and have one of us volunteers do the shopping or put it toward the gas and packaging for the day of please send an email to the address above. All the home bundles that will be dispersed will be physical items or small gifts cards and so any funds that are donated will go directing to those items, gas and packing accessories needed to make this work.
