Meet Our New Staff! Miss Emma Teneycke
Hello! My name is Emma Teneycke, and I am the new grade 6/7 teacher at Caronport Elementary School.
I am originally from Yorkton where my parents and my sister live. I also have one brother who lives in Saskatoon. I have just recently graduated from the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan. My passion for teaching developed very early on, and I have known since I was very young that I wanted to be a teacher. My educational journey was an interesting experience that I am so grateful for. I entered the elementary education program in 2016 with the intention of being a primary school teacher. However, during my internship, I was placed in a grade 7, 8, and 9 English class which caught me a little off-guard. It ended up being one of the best experiences that I have ever had, and I developed a deep passion for teaching middle year’s students. The opportunity to form strong and fun relationships with my middle year’s students is what drew me to this position at Caronport Elementary School.
Although we are living in a crazy time right now where safety is our main concern, I cannot wait until we can get extra-curricular activities back into our schools. As a student, I was engaged with extra-curricular activities and as a teacher my passion has carried over for activities such as volleyball, track and field, badminton, choir, and drama.
It has been a fantastic first month and I look forward to continuing to grow as a member of this amazing school community!
