October 16th to the 22nd was Education Week. Education Week provides an opportunity to celebrate student success and recognize our dedicated professionals across the province. This year’s theme: Celebrating Today, Preparing for Tomorrow, is about recognizing student achievement and teaching excellence that occur each day in our Saskatchewan schools while continuing to prepare our students for a brighter future before and after graduation .
As part of Bus Driver Appreciation Day the staff prepared a delicious pancake breakfast for the bus drivers and students first thing in the morning on October 19th. Our school community is very grateful to have such wonderful bus drivers who always get our students where they need to be safely.
Students took part in a great buddy activity where they worked together to write a spooky story. This year’s school goal is to improve student writing so this activity fits in with that perfectly. The stories were displayed during our Halloween Carnival later in the month.
On Friday the school took part in an In Motion Activity where the kids broke into teams and completed a relay race to spell different words.
