Santa Needs Help
Students and staff are invited to donate items for the food bank, so that Santa can help every family have a great Christmas.
Non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies and personal hygiene products are all needed.

Students in Mme. Munteanu’s class learned the importance of the voting process by staging an election in their class. Here we see an official, some voters and the result.
From Terry Fox to Trending Fashion Show
Students at EGS were challenged to raise $2500 for the Terry Fox Campaign. Because they met and exceeded the amount, they were able to dress staff members in high fashion couture, using toilet paper and streamers. Each house group “dressed” their staff leaders with original designs, then the new fashions were paraded on the runway.
Congratulations to EGS for raising $2761.15 for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Back to Work
The month of September has been a busy one, with students getting back into the routine of school. There have been lots of projects started, including these from Mme Munteanu’s class.
Fond Farewell
Staff and friends of Elyett gathered in a surprise come and go tea to celebrate her retirement. A recap of her teaching career, amusing stories, gift presentations and snacks were all a part of the afternoon. Guests gathered later to share a meal.

On June 21, National Aboriginal Day, a new tradition was started at Ecole Gravelbourg School.
In Aboriginal culture, a star blanket is a cherished gift that symbolizes respect and honor. It is given to community members who are revered.
The staff and students of EGS will be presenting a blanket annually. This year, the first one was given to Nicole Fister. She is a Metis elder, and has been a source of inspiration and guidance to many.

Members of the Ronald McDonald House Fundraising Club traveled to Saskatoon to present a cheque and toys to a representative of the house. The girls held three events (two movie nights and a bake sale), and took in some private donations. There was an on-going toy drive at all the events too.

Congratulations to Zoee and Vincent, who will be representing Ecole Gravelbourg School in Regina at the regional competition for mixed doubles in badminton in May. This comes after their gold medal win.
