The Peacock Toilers following their eighth straight MJHSAA senior girls basketball championship on Tuesday at Sask Polytech.
The Peacock Toilers reign on top of the Moose Jaw High School Senior Girls Basketball League continued on Tuesday night.
Peacock won 86-33 over the Central Cyclones in the title game at Sask Polytech, capturing their eighth straight championship.
Defence was the name of the game for Peacock throughout the game as they held Central to single digit points in each of the final three quarters.

The Peacock Toilers and Vanier Vikings have had some battles this season and Thursday night’s semifinal was no different.
Peacock edged Vanier with a 74-62 win to advance into next week’s Moose Jaw High School Senior Boys Basketball League championship game. Central won 103-69 over Caronport in the other semifinal to set-up a battle between the two rivals next Tuesday.

At Peacock Collegiate, the host Toilers captured the Junior Girls title with a 67-64 win over the Vanier Spirits.
As the score suggests, the game was tight through with Peacock holding a slim two-point lead after the first quarter. They extended that advantage to five points with a 20-point second quarter.

Four local wrestlers were able to find their way onto the podium last week at the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games in North Battleford.
The group was led by Kyle Yamniuk, who went undefeated on his way to a gold medal in the 60-kilogram weight class.
