September 19 – 23

Wednesday, September 21

  • Grade 5-7 students are heading to Mortlach for a Safety Presentation.  The attached Release and Consent forms were sent home with students today.
    • Please note – We do know that lunch is being provided but we have not received any further details.

Thursday, September 22

  • All students and staff will be taking part in our annual Terry Fox Walk to Dunnet Park.
    • We will all run and walk to Dunnet Park after lunch.
    • Everyone will need to be dressed for the weather, wear appropriate footwear, and bring a water bottle.
    • Parents and siblings are welcome to join us.  As we are only able to provide a return ride for students and staff, guests will need to make arrangements to get back to Avonlea.  Also, if you are taking your child home with you, please make sure their teacher knows!
    • The RCMP will lead us out to the park and buses will bring students and staff back to town.  There will also be a bus available to pick up little legs that just can’t make it all the way.
  • Thank you to everyone who has begun collecting Terry Fox donations.  I have attached fundraising instructions for anyone who has misplaced their copy.

Friday, September 23

  • No school

Mark your calendars

  • September 26 – We’re going bowling!  All details have been sent home with students today, but I am attaching another copy of the note and the Subway order form in case they end up at the bottom of backpacks!

  • Have you sent a family picture yet?  If not, we would love to add you to our Avonlea School Family Wall.  These definitely don’t have to be photographer-quality pictures, just gather your crew, snap a quick pic, and email it to beitel.cheryl@prairiesouth.ca .
