Caronport Elementary is in Treaty 4 Territory

Caronport Elementary is in Treaty 4 territory, the original lands of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and on the homeland of the Metis Nation.  As part of our reconciliation, we honoured the 215 students from the former Kamloops Residential School this week through a moment of silence and classroom discussion.  Our grade 1 2 classroom wrote a eulogy to them as you will see in this photo.  We respect and honour the treaties made on all territories, acknowledge the mistakes of the past, and are committed to moving forward.
