What is the SCC?

“School Community Councils (SCCs) are in place at every school* in Prairie South School Division. SCCs provide an opportunity for parents and community members to play a meaningful role in supporting the learning that takes place at their local school.” (Quoted from the Prairie South School Division Website)

Here is a glimpse of some of the projects we are working on this school year:

Developing a parent representative program for each classroom to enhance communication and community

Fundraising for landscaping around our school and playgrounds

Assisting in LIT and LIP goals by hosting events such as Literacy Day

Communicating on behalf of CES to the community

Promoting positive attitudes towards events and education

What kind of commitment is expected?

We meet once a month in person, but often communicate weekly. Leading up to an event, we are often in communication daily. However, we have a great team and the work is divided nicely amongst everyone. We would love to have some new members join this year!

Are there any perks?

Working on the SCC gives you a better understanding of CES, how our school division works, and helps connect you to your children’s educational experience. You will also have a chance to get to know many parents, teachers, and staff members at CES.

Want to know more about what is happening at CES?

Come out to our AGM on April 28th at 6:30pm to hear more about what is happening in and around our school!
