ÉGS Students Celebrated National Aboriginal Day

Earlier this week, students from Kindergarten to grade 12 gathered in celebration of  National Aboriginal Day.  Mme Nathalie shared information about residential school life. The message was that we can not change the past, but we must learn from it.  Students worked together to share their dreams for the future.

Students in grade 6/7b  studied the life and works of Norval Morrisseau, celebrated Canadian First Nations artist. They learned of his difficult childhood and his ability to overcome adversity.  After studying several of his pieces of work, students started their own piece, following Mr. Morrisseau’s style.
