March 7, 2019: Campaign Launched to Support Centennial Auditorium Renewal
**Donate Now**
Prairie South Schools announced support today for a fundraising campaign to help renew the Centennial Auditorium located at A. E. Peacock Collegiate in Moose Jaw. The Centennial Auditorium is an 800 seat school and community theatre space that has provided the opportunity for thousands of performers to learn and to share their passion for fine arts. The project includes replacement or renewal of seats, flooring, lighting, sound and change room facilities.
The campaign’s goal is to raise $250,000 over the next 3 months. There are a wide variety of ways to support, ranging from corporate sponsorship opportunities as a platinum naming sponsor to individual seat donations. All supporters of the campaign will be permanently recognized on the donor recognition wall located in the auditorium.
“We have a significant need in our community and we are asking for everyone’s help to ensure that that the auditorium is renewed for future generations”, encouraged Dustin Swanson, Principal at A.E. Peacock Collegiate. “We hope that corporations and organizations will consider sponsoring to support their community connections. We also hope that individuals will sponsor on behalf of their family, in memory of a loved one or to recognize someone who has dedicated much to fine arts and youth in our community”.
Tim McLeod, Prairie South School board chair, explained that, “the board recognizes the value and importance of the Centennial Auditorium, not only to Prairie South schools, but to the entire community. For that reason, the school division has committed funding through our preventative maintenance and repair budget to kick-off the fundraising campaign. We encourage the community to be active in supporting this worthwhile cause.”
More details about sponsorship can be found on the campaign web soon.
The Centennial Auditorium is a venue that has supported thousands of performers, bands, choirs, dancers, speakers, and presenters over the last 87 years. It is one of the largest theatre spaces in the province and has been home to hundreds of school and community plays, musicals, and choir and band performances. The Centennial Auditorium features a large stage and has been used by the dance community as a performance space for the Moose Jaw Invitational Carnival of Dance and Festival of Dance for 60 years. The theatre is also regularly used for band and choral festivals hosted in Moose Jaw as well as various community events.

January 22, 2019:
The Centennial Auditorium is a large theater space that has provided the opportunity for thousands of performers to learn and to share their passion for fine arts. We want to continue to ensure it is a fine performance space for years to come and are looking for your support!
If you have spent any hours in the Centennial Auditorium, you know the old seats need to be replaced. Since being installed in 1966, they have received numerous repairs, but they are at the end of their life cycle. We are currently fundraising to replace all of the Centennial Auditorium seats and hope you will consider donating to support the upgrade to new seats.

A seat can be sponsored for a donation of $100. Your name will be placed on the recognition wall of contributors at the main auditorium entrance. Corporate sponsorship is also an option and will be announced formally in March 2019. You may want to consider the sponsorship as a great gift in the name of someone special.
