Junior 10 Girls Volleyball Team Takes City Title

The Peacock Toilers grade 10 team wrapped up their time at the junior level with a championship on Wednesday night.
Peacock knocked off the Vanier Spirits in a hard fought three-set battle to walk away with the Moose Jaw High School Junior Girls Volleyball League championship.

Over 580 runners hit the course on Saturday for the 2017 SHSAA cross country provincial championship in Turtleford.

Jackson Woloschuk had an outstanding game for the Peacock Tornadoes on Thursday.
The grade 12 running back rushed for 293 yards and four touchdowns to help the Tornadoes to a 35-7 win over the Weyburn Eagles at Gutheridge Field in the Moose Jaw High School Football League.

The cold and wet weather didn’t slow down the 97 runners that turned out for the South Central District Cross Country Championship on Tuesday in Wakamow Valley.
There was strong performances across the board as local athletes looked to secure a spot at the SHSAA provincial championship next Friday in Turtleford.

The Peacock and Central rivalry was on display again during the Moose Jaw Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday in Wakamow Valley.
Peacock’s Ashton Woodley and Central’s Kal McGillis battled back-and-forth throughout the four-kilometre high school boys race. Woodley found an extra gear during the final stretch towards the finish line and pulled out the win in the season-opening meet.

The Peacock Tornadoes earned their first win of the season on Monday afternoon when they knocked off the Vanier Vikings, 4-1, in Moose Jaw High School Boys Soccer League action.
Tafo Mugisha scored a pair of goals, while Rhylan Tremblay and Atkins Javan also found the back of the net in the win for Peacock, who improved to 1-2 on the year.
Vanier’s lone goal came from Billy M. The Vikings are 0-4 on the year.

The Tornadoes improved to 2-0 on the year with a 22-7 win over the Vikings at Gutheridge Field in Moose Jaw High School Football League action.

The Peacock Toilers and Central Cyclones had another season opening showdown on Thursday night to kick-off the year in the Moose Jaw High School Senior Volleyball League.
The doubleheader opened with a five-set battle between the two schools’ boys teams that Peacock pulled out the win in after a back-and-forth match.
The Toilers opened up by winning the first set, 25-22, but the Cyclones struck back with a 25-23 win in the second set and a 25-18 win in the third set.
