Other items of interest:

  • Reminder – the deadline to order school clothing is today October 7!!  Once the store closes, it is closed.  All order and payments will be online.  Check out the clothing options and designs at the following website.  All clothing size charts are available on the site as well!  www.spiritwearcanada.ca/avonlea_school/shop/home

To keep the store costs minimal, the SCC is asking families to have the clothing shipped to the school.  Clothing will be sent home with your child; however, if the clothing is a gift item, please send an email to the school for items to be set aside for parent pick up.  Once we know the estimated date of delivery, I will include it in the Peek at the Week.

If there is interest and this first sale is a success, we will be looking at a Spring store with a few additional items.

  • We are very excited to have received approval to hire another half-time Educational Assistant!  If you like to work with children, would enjoy working every second day,  and want to be part of a wonderful staff, please check out the vacancy on the PSSD website here.   If you would like to hear more about what the job involves, please feel free to contact Mrs. Krawetz at Krawetz.candice@prairiesouth.ca or give her a call here at the school  (306) 868-2000.
  • We are in the process of putting together a calendar of School Lunches for the year.  Our plan again this year is to have one Grilled Cheese lunch and two catered lunches most months.  Watch for notifications from SchoolCash for all upcoming meals.
  • Our Senor Boys are hosting Assiniboia tonight at 6:30. Come on down and cheer on our Eagles.
  • Samuel, Molly, Zander, Wally, Chase, and Hudson travelled to Moose Jaw yesterday for the District Cross Country Championship and it was another great race day for all athletes! Chase and Hudson are off to Cross Country Provincials in Wapiti Valley on October 15!   Chase placed 8th in the Intermediate Boys category and Hudson placed 5th in the Junior Boys category.

Our Bantams also competed at Districts yesterday, with Molly placing 6th in the Bantam girls category, Wally placing 7th, Zander placing 9th, and Samuel placing 21st in the Bantam Boys category.  Congratulations to all our athletes!
